• Engineering Remediation

Enviro-Logical Solutions, Inc. has implemented over 100 remedial strategies at sites where heavy metals, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and pesticides have been present. ELS engineers are able to draw on their past experience and knowledge of innovative solutions to prescribe a site specific remedial program that will restore the site to an acceptable level. Often times this include a combination of more standard technologies, such as air sparging, vacuum extraction and multi-phase extraction and more innovative technologies such as bio-slurping, biosparging, bioenhancement and episodic treatments. By combining and phasing these technologies, ELS can efficiently and cost-effectively expedite remediation, thus reducing client cost and liability.

In addition to conventional remediation approaches, Enviro-Logical Solutions implements innovative technologies as a primary remediation component or to assist mechanical systems to achieve remediation goals. Most of these technologies result in enhanced remediation, reduction of carbon based energy usage and creation of greenhouse gases. Examples of innovative technologies include:

  • FyreZymeTM Technology – A method of bioenhancement, containing a proprietary blend of nutrients and surfactants injected into the subsurface. The nutrients stimulate growth of the indigenous microbial population while the surfactants aid in the release of petroleum constituents adhered to soil particles. ELS has effectively used this technology to cleanup both soil and groundwater contaminated by petroleum hydrocarbons.
  • PHOSter IITM Nutrient Injection System –A pulsed injection system that stimulates the growth of indigenous petrophilic microorganisms by supplying oxygen, nitrogen and phosphorus. The indigenous microorganisms utilize the injected nutrients to aerobically degrade petroleum contamination, producing biomass, carbon dioxide and water as by-products.
  • Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) Injection – Injection of H2O2 is used to boost dissolved oxygen (DO) levels in the subsurface to enhance microbial activity.
  • Bioaugmentation - The addition of specialized strains of microbes that have an affinity for digesting specific contaminants. These microbes are injected into the subsurface along with nutrients and oxygen sources to degrade target contaminants.

Enviro-Logical Solutions, regularly utilize innovative technologies and equipment required to complete all work associated with remediation. This technology and equipment is readily available and provided with experienced operators making ELS able to respond quickly and cost effectively to all your remedial needs.
